- More WYN Zone stuff:
- Some more "Battle of Trotman" SSDs:
- After battling the Tholians for the information database, the party escapes Tholian reinforcements and arrive at Seltorian space (in the southern Klingon empire).
Here they examine the database and discover it contains a multi-planar map listing every known parallel universe.
They trade a small amount of this information for a Seltorian CA.
(After the party leaves the Seltorians use this information to search for a parallel universe where anti-Tholian weapons have been developed.)
- They head north-west towards their next job assignment, and run into the Darkkons (square G-11 on my map).
Several planets are destroyed, and the party discover the culprit: the Doomsday Machine!
They lead the Doomsday Machine out of Darkkon space towards the east, and call Commodore Decker of the Constellation (remember they already met him at the end of Part 1) to let him know that a powerful ship is heading their way.
If you've seen TOS, you know what happens next.
- The party continues North-West, and find what they're looking for: a small region of space still populated by the Old Kings!
(This is what the "Worshipers of the Bane Fleet" are looking for.)
These Old Kings are quite insane, and were apparently deliberately left behind.
Their ships were only 0Xl, but had a lot of strange systems (many more than what the Old Kings have on my web page currently).
I made about 70 SSDs for the Old Kings, and the party faced about 40 of them in groupings of 5-10.
The Seltorian and Paravian (from Part 1) were destroyed, but the Hispaniolan, Barbarian, UPF, and Hoshan survived.
They even managed to capture about 15 of the ships.
They got to meet actual Old Kings, which are quite large (about 30 feet tall).
- Here's 20 Old Kings SSDs, randomly generated using the Random Ship Generator.
They feature numerous odd systems; some systems come from my Micro Machines and other strange races.
If you don't understand what a system does; don't worry about it, I was purposely running the Old Kings ships as completely insane, and they frequently did odd things not represented ont their SSDs.
The SSDs don't have weapons tables (sorry!), they were originally old style but I had to convert to new style in order to post them correctly:
- The party, significantly slowed due to the crippled Old Kings ships in tow, abandon another job idea they had, and head North-East back toward WYN space.
They make a stop at Klingon space and sell a couple of the Old Kings ships, and get a couple of real Klingon booms (I think it was two C8 booms) to mount on two of the larger Old Kings.
- They arrive back at the WYN Cluster, and scare off another Lyran Blood Star County ship scanning the cluster.
They rest at WYN space, while having the WYNs (and the 2 Legendary Engineers) work with some of the Old Kings ships to make a FRD (Fleet Repair Dock) for the party to have go around with them.
- A week passes, and suddenly one day, the Hispaniolan and Barbarian captains are aboard the bridge of a strange Old Kings ship!
How they got there they had no idea.
The ship appeared to be on auto-pilot, and several dead WYN are laying on the floor.
The ship was also damaged and under attack, so the Hispaniolan and Barbarian revived the viewscreen to take a look.
They were outside the WYN Cluster, heading North at warp speeds, with several Lyran Blood Star County ships attacking them.
Ahead of them was another Temporal Anomoly, the one scheduled for this time (remember from Part 1 these Anomolies occur every 30 days, well, their 30 days are up...).
In the Anomoly they could see the original 3X Romulan Scout being rammed by the Romulan Slip-Stream cruiser (from Part 1), and realize they are going insane
(as there are 2 other versions of themselves at the same time at the same point, as in TNG "All Good Things...").
The two captains soon realize that they are on the FRD the WYNs had been working on, and they manage to escape the Lyrans (destroying one or two).
Apparently the two captains went insane in WYN space the moment the anomoly appeared, and hijacked the FRD from the WYNs and took off in it.
(This is a classic AD&D trick to use insanity to cover up strange PC actions and to get them in weird situations).
The next anomoly will appear in square A-26 (*outside* of the Galactic Barrier near the Andromedan RTN), and again Q tells them they party will somehow find themselves there in 30 days.
- The Campaign ships as of the end of part 2:
1998 Campaign Part 3
- Another futuristic scene, add Bolaar and Velron players to active party
- Party leaves WYN cluster again to do some jobs
- Party destroys a Ferengi base that has invented Planetary Transporters (don't ask, you'll see), lots of (R1) General units here
- Party meets up with Tamarians and attempt to communicate with them
- Tamarians at war with Opposition, party runs into an Opposition ship
- Party dodges empires (some small encounters here) and arrives at ISC
- Party (with some ISC help) battles the evil ISC "inner group" who plan to take over the ISC. The evil ISC are studying the trans-galactic communications network (that the Hirogen use). The Party fails, the evil ISC take over and start planning the ISC Conquest.
- The Party, attempting to use the network, is thrown to the LMC in the middle of the Andromedan - Magellan Confederation war. I have an LMC map (similar to my 0Xs and 4Xe map) of a bunch of LMC races, most of which are based on net races (the Peladine, the Niss, the Enclave, etc.). The Party is contacted psionically by the Silakkans, a terrible race from another galaxy who were at war with the T'kan Empire centuries ago.
- The Party battle with Andros and LMC races, discover the RTN to the Milky Way, and take it to the edge of the Milky Way, where the 2nd temporal anomoly is. An Andro mothership (a SatBase carrier) is there and enters the anomoly! The Party chooses not to and the next anomoly will appear in the Krebiz.
1998 Campaign Part 4
- Another futuristic scene, at one point the players indirectly interact with their future selves (don't ask).
- The Party penetrate the Galactic Barrier into Romulan space. The Romulans are annoyed with the Party from the Slip-Stream fiasco of Part 1, of course.
- The Party enters Federation space to warn them about the evil ISC. Section 31 tricks them; imprisoning the Party and impounding their ships (!), the Federation considers the Party a rogue fleet who need to be stopped.
- With the help of Harry Mudd who also is in jail, the Party escapes, steals some Fed escorts and then their ships, and is in a firefight all the way to the Klingon empire.
- The Klingons are losing a war with an evil version of the Tholians, who apparently NEEDED the database that the Party got instead in Part 2. The Tholians have taken over the Vudar, and are currently battling to take control of the Hydran empire and the southern end of the Klingon empire. During this time the Frax are invented by the Klingons but aren't a big threat yet. What's also strange is the Party meet a different Party of mixed race ships, apparently some rogue captain's heard of the Party and decided to try it for themselves.
- A weird out of phase thing happens with the Velron player, and the party is thrown into the Alternate Universe. Using their Multiversal Map included in the database from Part 2, they successfully return to the normal universe, with all the things they did from Parts 1-4 undone. The Party still has their ships and memories, but they are now in a universe where they never travelled back in time and they were killed (or assimilated) by the Borg at the beginning of Part 1.
- The Party encounter the Jindarians.
- The Party arrive back at the WYN cluster and are about to reintroduce themselves, when they see that the Blood Star County (with some Orion help and treachery) has taken over the WYN cluster (because the Party was not here in Part 2 to stop it). Big battle ensues, and the Duke of the Blood Star County is killed.
- The temporal anomoly opens up, and after dealing with some Companion Games races (mostly the Krebiz), the party enters it and goes forward 10 years to the 1X time period. They leave their Legendary Engineers behind so they can invent new things in the intervening 10 year period. :P
1998 Campaign Part 5
- This Part was never ran, but we did discuss it (out of game) one day to see how my notes would have played out. If I actually had ran it, I would have added a lot of material to make it as long as the other 4 parts.
- The last futuristic scene, leading to the Deadvancement (that will be defined later), and the actual source of the original temporal anomoly (it *isn't* Q, by the way).
- The party travel to the Federation again (remember they've reset the universe so the whole incident with Harry Mudd never happened in the Federation's eyes), I don't remember the reason offhand, it's for a job I think.
- In here is where I would have added some more jobs to make this Part longer before springing the next sequence of events on my poor players. :)
- The Federation notices the Klingons are using Planetary Weaponry, and send a fleet (with the Party in tow) to investigate. The Frax are the real culprits here, and a great battle insues between the Feds (with some Klingon help) vs. the Frax.
- The MASTERS notice the battle, and capture the fleet (including the Party) to their arena outside the galaxy. The Party is forced to battle several strange races from other parts of the galaxy (and some Randomites too), all the while trying to figure out how to escape.
- The Party fails to find a way out, but discover they don't have to. As per Q's prediction, another temporal anomoly opens up (in MASTERS's Arena!). The Silakkans from the other galaxy are now able to penetrate the Arena due to the anomoly, and the Silakkans and MASTERS have a nice and sick 9X battle. The party enters the anomoly, travelling forwards again to the 2X time period.
1998 Campaign Part 6
- This was going to cover the Party as they adjusted to the 2X period (remember, they were in 1X ships, and start off at a significant disadvantage). I have only a very tiny bit of notes, most of which got rewritten and incorporated into the never-ran 1999 Campaign (also called the "Shattered Universe") set in the 2Xs time period. I presented some of the Shattered Universe on my web page at the end of 1999.
