October 31, 2003 (2 SSDs so far):

  • Still busy at work, and ill with allergies. Things are starting to look better on both fronts, so maybe I'll have time to update this page more often.
  • But I can't let Halloween go by without doing something... :)
I have sketches for 13 ships (one of each race from 1-13), featuring a "Secret Organization" of each race, dunno how far I'll get, I may only get a few...
I'll change this page when I add more, if it gets to be 6 PM (EST), I'm probably done...
  • [Halloween 2003] Federation 0Xl Section 31 Tug+Scout
The Federation has record of a USS Aleah, a tug which apparently never docks at any port. Whenever a Federation officer notices this oddity in the records, they are directed to ignore it, as the USS Aleah is under special assignment. The Aleah is actually under the service of Section 31, an ultra-secret intelligence agency in the Federation, whose job is to protect Federation interests at all costs. The small central section detaches from the main ship (taking half the shields with it), and acts as a special scout PF.
  • [Halloween 2003] Klingon 0Xl N-5 Bane Hunter Destroyer
The "Bane Hunters" do not officially exist in the Klingon military. Most members of the Klingon Empire are aware of the Bane Hunters existence, but will not discuss the situation with non-Klingons. The Bane Hunters are technically a branch of ISF, designed to seek and destroy all members of the "Worshipers of the Bane Fleet". The Worshipers of the Bane Fleet are Klingons in liege with Fek'lar, the Klingon lord of the dishonored dead. They also seek the Old Kings, who they believe have ties with certain powerful 9X entities. During the 0Xl time period, the Worshipers of the Bane Fleet found and made a deal with one such entity. They did not fulfill their end of the bargain, the entity became angry, and cursed the entire Klingon population (causing a change in their appearance). This caused the creation of the Bane Hunters, to exterminate the Worshipers of the Bane Fleet before they did any more damage (and perhaps to convince the entity to remove the curse). After the Worshipers of the Bane Fleet were forced out of the Alpha Quadrant (2Xe time period), the Bane Hunters' mission was altered to engage in the Great Tribble Hunt, then was disbanded before the Next Generation.

  • This is the first update of the second series.
This series takes my old "Banner SSDs" and tries to make them into "real" SSDs.
Most of these little banners were not serious, so the resultant ship can be considered a "Joke" SSD.
I may not do them in (chronological) order; I'm sort of jumping around.
  • [Banner SSD] Chlorophon 0Xs Christmas Tree PF Flotilla
This was the banner SSD for December 1999.
  • [Banner SSD] Borg 0Xs Cadet Cruiser & Battleship
This was the banner SSD for January 2001.
  • [Banner SSD] Jindarian 0Xs Pebbles PF Flotilla
This was the banner SSD for March 2001.

  • So, I take the 1Xr ships from last week, and "X refit" them to get 2Xr ships. I generally added 1 box to each grouping of boxes (once in a while I added 2). I expanded WARP and SHIELDS by 33%. I upgraded the phasers from PH-1 (the number "1") to PH-I (the letter "I"), which I used a long time ago for the "Revised Lower Tech" ships. The new phaser is the same arming cost as a PH-1, but has a better table. The PH-J is the replacement for the PH-3.
  • [New SSD] Federation 2Xr Revised Trade Wars Cruiser
  • [New SSD] Klingon 2Xr Revised Trade Wars Cruiser
  • [New SSD] Romulan 2Xr Revised Trade Wars Cruiser
