I'm working on improving the Ship List ("The SSDs!" button you see on the left). That list is hopelessly out of date; there are many SSDs not on that list, if you browse around the updates on my old SFB site you'll see plenty that are missing.
In other news, Jackie D. Stephens has given me permission to provide his SSDs here. Jackie has thousands of SSDs of various new races. I will do my best to provide this in next week's update.

It's been a year, and I'm sure a lot of you are wondering what the heck happened to me, so I made a webpage explaining it all. If you've ever wondered things like what I look like, here's your chance. :)

The following are "Fast Phaser Destroyers". Basically, they are Fast DDs, with each of the original torpedo weapons replaced by two PH-1's (these ships generally have no torpedo weapons at all).
They have "NWCO" systems; if you are not familiar with my rules, these hold "control" or "generic" type systems (such as SHTL, TRAN, TRAC, LAB, REPAIR, etc.) These ships are given extra "Option Allowance" so they are able to carry 2 SPECSEN + 2 LAB in their 4 NWCO (Total Opt Allowance = 24).
I did my best to reduce the amount of "cookie-cutterism" in these designs.

Been busy with work this week. I don't even have all the ID4 ships up yet! :(
Well, I can't work on the ID4 ships right now (I left my USB flash drive at work), but I won't leave you high and dry:
[New SSD] Federation 0Xl Frigate Monitor / Augmentation Ship
All races presumably tested "Tesla Power Transfer" technology. This allows a ship to transfer energy to another ship within the same hex. Their warp fields must touch (to act a conduit/medium), so generally the ships dock together.
The idea here is to build a small (frigate-sized) vessel, which can operate on its own (as a mini monitor), or it can "attach" to a larger ship and act as a weapons pod. Since these ships are typically used in system defense, the engines were changed to the "SemiWarp" type, which reduced the ship's range, but improved overall power.
The "Tesla" technology (named after an Earth scientist who had similar concepts in his day) was found to be slightly unstable. Any ship with Tesla technology in orbit around a system would (after some time) cause massive earthquakes on the planets nearby. This caused the project to be abandoned (except for the Andromedans, who seemed to have more success reducing this effect).
Theoretically, the attaching of such a ship should block some firing arcs. I suggest picking a 60 degree arc (LF, RF, L, R, LR, or RR), all weapons on the host ship are blocked to that arc. In the opposite arc (e.g. LF -> RR), all weapons on the pod/augmentation ship are blocked.
"Augmentation" ships for other races will eventually be presented; they are all FF or PF sized.

This ship would benefit from the "Mind Scanner" and "Dirty Bomb Drone Module" systems coming up on the Independence Day page (you'll have to wait a week to see it tho!).

The official relaunch of the site (along with 13 rather unusual ships) will be July 4. There will be quite a few changes to the website over the next couple of weeks.

The buttons to the left are temporary; I'm going to group the content of the webpage into subcategories, and have a separate page for each.

Colonization & Defense Ships are fairly large units, designed for long-term missions to distant systems. They act as both tug (for the journey) and monitor/utility base (after arrival). The ship can carry one pod, usually a cargo or starliner pod. I'll present the Klingon CADS in the next day or two.
