- [SSD 1st Request #20] Borg 5X Unicomplex 1 (God-box SSD)
The "Borg Unicomplex" appears late in the Voyager TV series.
It is essentially a gigantic Borg city in space.
To match the hap-hazard design, I wrote a quick "Random Unicomplex Program", which takes random pieces of Borg and attaches them with lines.
The program didn't quite do the lines right, so I quickly hand-edited some of the lines (which is why it may look jagged or rough in places).
I write this sort of program all the time for my SFB campaigns, when I need to quickly flesh out a new race or whatever.
Anyway, the SSDs are in "Godboxes" (1 Godbox = 100 Megaboxes), and here's a dozen more of the program output:
The last SSD (#13) used a completely different set of constants (for size of pieces and such), and would make sense for a "center section" near the middle of the city.
- [SSD 1st Request #21] Tholian 0Xs Dyson Sphere Section
I made a few assumptions when deciding how the "Tholian Dyson Sphere" should work:
- It should be made mostly of web material.
Makes sense for the Tholians, and would make the Sphere relatively easy to construct.
- The mini-bases on the inside of the sphere act as web anchors, solar collectors, and construction facilities for more such mini-bases (to expand a semi-sphere outwards to an eventual complete sphere, and to replace damaged mini-bases).
- The mini-bases on the outside of the sphere act as web anchors, weapons platforms, and sensor arrays.
- There should probably be mini-bases in the middle of the structure as well, which act as crew quarters and repair facilities.
The SSD shows one typical section of the Dyson Sphere.
Assuming a 1000 hex radius (roughly 1/10 of an AU), there would be 24000 of these SSDs for the SFB game.
(The math would have to be altered if you wanted a true 3D sphere and weren't using SFB.)
After the basic sphere was constructed, more bases could be built on the inside and middle to accommodate more civilians and such.
Now, how the Tholians moved this structure (with the star inside) is another mystery...
- [SSD 1st Request #22] Twelve Colonies 0Xs Revised Lower Tech Battlestar Galactica

August 27, 2002:
- A couple of SSDs from the Sparse Universe, discussed in Smileylich's Independence Day 2002 Page.
The Sparse Universe is the one where systems with intelligent life are much further apart than in regular SFB.
- [Sparse Universe SSD] Federation 0Xs Heavy Tactical Transport
This is a typical "Heavy Cruiser" for the Federation.
The ability to move colonists is of great economic value in this universe.
- [Sparse Universe SSD] Klingon 0Xs T-10 Planet Control Tug
The Klingons discovered an Iconian gateway near their homeworld, and have been using it to "teleport" their ships near other worlds, in order to conquer them.
Thus they can get away with slow ships such as this one.
- [Misc. New SSD] ISC 2Xe Light Battleship (older style SSD)
I think this has never been uploaded before; sometimes I lose track of what people have seen. :)
