October 31, 2002:
- OK, first of all: There are no new SSDs for this Halloween page (I sense a "Huh?" coming from the crowd...).
Don't worry, I'll go back to putting up SSDs next week.
- Here's the idea for this year's Halloween page:
I've been making SSDs now for a lot of years, and hundreds (if not thousands) of new systems have appeared on my SSDs with a "little blurb" explaining how the system works.
What would be nice would be an "Encyclopedia" of these systems, along with their descriptions and charts.
Think of it as a much improved version of my old "Great List of Systems".
- So, late last week I designed a database (called the "Great Encyclopedia of Systems"), and designed a way of quickly outputting it as a string of HTML files (like the RaceGrid).
I then started to feverishly go through my SSDs and rules, and entering systems into the database.
I knew there was no way I could finish by now, but got as far as I could (it's a TON of work!).
I got through perhaps 20% of my stuff so far, and the results are below.
- The current Great Encyclopedia of Systems covers only 0X tech.
There will be similar versions for 1X, 2X, and 3X+/TNG.
A lot of the entries are very brief, and there's a lot of missing information and systems, but don't worry, I'll be uploading it regularly.
- So, without further delay, Click here to go to letter "A" of the Great Encyclopedia of Systems.
In addition to each letter, there's an "ALL" link, which views all systems at once, don't do this unless you're using a cable modem or something.
